HexMC® is a high performance sheet molding compound, suitable for lage volume production of small to medium sized complex 3-D shapes. Specifically designed for compression molding, HexMC® enables inserts to be integrated at the moulding stage. it is easy to use, no scrap is created during production and there is no time-consuming lay-up.
HexFIT® is Hexcel's new Film Infusion Technology, enabling quality composite components to be manufactured quickly and cost-effectlively using simple composite processing techniques, particularly vacuum bag moulding. HexFIT® offers improved formability, void free laminates, processing flexibility and allows for special surfacing materials to be incorporated. It is especially useful for thicker components such as wind turbine blades.
Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) is a composite manufacturing method that allows high quality components to be produced, without autoclaves. Large, complex shapes can be achieved with good surface quality and a reduced part count. HexFlow® RTM 6 is the European aerospace industry standard for resin transfer molding.
Resin Film Infusion (RFI) is particularly suitable for large, flat aerospace parts. Very fast deposition rates are achieved and when used in conjunction with thick reinforcements (eg. Hexcel's non-crimp NC2 fabric) the process is highly cost-effective. HexPly® M36 is Hexcel's recommended system for RFI, which is fully compatible with RTM 6, making it deal for RFI/RTM processing.
