Hexcel's site at Les Avenieres is located 60 miles from Lyon, France.  Les Avenieres is a small town in the countryside towards the Alps.

Hexcel has three Reinforcements plants at Les Avenieres:  one dedicated to industrial applications and vertical blind fabrics; one to Electronics fabrics; and a new 12,500m2 facility that opened in 2003 and is dedicated to carbon reinforcement materials.

The site is Hexcel's European center of excellence for carbon fiber reinforcements, having developed three carbon technologies: weaving, multiaxials and preforms.  The site is also Hexcel's European Headquarters for Reinforcements R&T.

Approximately 475 people are employed at the site in Operations, R&T and Quality Assurance and Product Management positions.
