Stamford is the home of Hexcel's Corporate Headquarters, located in Southwestern Connecticut in Fairfield County.  The city of Stamford is a coastal community located on the Long Island Sound and is a city of approximately 117,000 citizens, consisting of 37.3 square miles.  Stamford is 25 miles to the northeast of New York City which is less than one hour from midtown Manhattan by commuter rail or interstate highway.  Stamford is also 90 miles from the Connecticut state capital of Hartford.

The city of Stamford progressed from a factory hub to a research center in the early part of the 20th Century, and in the last quarter of the century, to the country's third largest corporate headquarters community.  Today, Stamford is the 4th largest city in Connecticut and has been ranked as the eighth largest business center in the United States.  The city is also home to the University of Connecticut's Stamford campus.

Hexcel Corporation recently celebrated the Company's 25th listing anniversary with the New York Stock Exchange.  Hexcel began trading on the NYSE on March 3, 1980 and in honor of the occasion, Chairman, President and CEO David Berges rang the Closing Bell on March 3, 2005.
