Hexcel Receives Airbus SQIP Silver Award

Hexcel is delighted to have received a Silver Award from Airbus at the Supply Chain and Quality Improvement Programme (SQIP) Award Day that took place in Toulouse on December 8th 2011. Hexcel’s Award was in the Best Improvement Category, in recognition of the company’s performance against a number of key quality metrics. The award was collected by Diane Horrocks, Hexcel’s Global Continuous Improvement Manager and Jim Brown, Hexcel’s Global Quality Manager, who commented: “Hexcel has been recognised not only for their improved performance but also for the amount of effort that we are putting into continuously improving the processes”.
Thierry Vuillequez, Airbus Vice President Supply Chain & Quality Material and Parts Procurement commented “To deal with the challenging growth Airbus is facing, we do need best in class suppliers and Hexcel has demonstrated a customer oriented, open minded and professional approach to Airbus. Capability efficiencies, overall continuous improvement and Industrial Process Control Assessment (IPCA) level A are demonstrated evidences”.
Airbus established the SQIP as a proactive and collaborative approach joining Airbus and Supplier efforts in several domains including global quality standardisation, for the benefit of the entire aerospace industry (customers, primes and suppliers). The objective is to have a highly performing self-managed supply base.
