WASTE MINIMIZATION

Project Reduces 800 Tons of Waste Annually

In 2019, at one of our European sites, more than 800 metric tons of annual waste (30% of the site’s footprint) was going to landfill. The site implemented a project to separate waste streams at the source (e.g., cardboard, plastic, metal, wood, etc.). This helped develop source reduction strategies. Separated wastes were then grouped into recyclables and reusables, which were repurposed, and the remaining wastes were sent off-site for energy recovery. This resulted in the diversion of approximately 800 tons of wastes from landfill annually beginning in 2023.
